OK, so keep the brackets for a modified flat 2012 tax brackets that has no credits or deductions.
Rough math here - Congress spends through the tax code about what the tax code takes in as revenue. Cut out the tax expenditures, then cut the rates in each bracket in half. Sound better? Obviously the math is more complex than that and many tax expenditures fall in the corporate tax code, but you get the idea.
