Discover says he approved the fee in a phone call? Prove it through phone records. They can’t. I bet a judge would be glad to hit them with an order of repayment plus attorney’s fees and a decent sized damage payment to encourage them not to do something like that again.

Oh, and Mr. Christopher should also make a complaint to his state’s Attorney General’s office and any other agency that would be interested in Discover’s actions. That’s what I did when MCI was overbilling me and didn’t want to repay. It works.
